The PA General Assembly passed a law that prevents local officials from passing gun regulations to keep their communities safe. In the meantime, the same majority in the General Assembly is repeatedly blocking sensible, meaningful gun violence prevention bills that would save lives.

If the General Assembly is going to refuse to do their job to keep every Pennsylvanian safe, they must repeal pre-emption regulations, which hold communities hostage to gun violence in their communities.

I am writing to you to request that you support HB 1578, a bill which would repeal pre-emption measures that have resulted in the loss of life of so many. The General Assembly, session after session, has failed to pass meaningful gun violence prevention legislation of their own, and in the meantime, they are preventing local leaders from passing reasonable ordinances to keep their communities safe.

Please work to pass this legislation.
