Millions of children are living with unsecured guns. But, a simple safe storage law could lead to 59% fewer children fatalities.

Nearly half of the U.S. has laws mandating that gun owners secure their firearms, including states like Florida, Wisconsin, and Texas. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania is not among them. But there is legislation ready to pass right now that could change this.

I am writing to you to request that you work to pass safe gun storage legislation. Unsecured firearms in the home are dangerous. Millions of children live in homes where firearms are loaded but not locked. Firearm owners should be required to store their guns safely and should be held accountable when negligent storage leads to dangerous and tragic consequences.
